Process Overview

LOCTITE® DRI 2020™ / Brass-Loc™ is a low strength, water-based, pre-applied adhesive/sealant coating for threaded fasteners and fittings. As a pre-applied film, the product is dry-tothe-touch and remains an inert coating until assembly. During assembly of the fitting/fastener, a microencapsulated activator is released, intiating the curing process. The coating fills all the voids in the threads and cures to securely lock and seal the assembly. The product can be applied using automatic or semi-automatic equipment. LOCTITE® DRI 2020™ is designed for sealing brass fittings against a range of typical fluids such as motor oils and water/glycol solutions.

How it works

Customer parts sent to ND Industries undergo the Loctite Dri 2020l / Brass-Loc pre-application process whereby dry film lubricants are coated onto fasteners and assemblies in bulk. Completed fasteners are packaged and returned to the customer. Parts arrive ready for assembly or for storage until needed. Processed parts have a very long shelf life due to the inert nature of the materials used, however re-certification of parts should take place to confirm other external factors have not compromised performance.

Eco-friendly

Dri 2020 / Brass-Loc is a water based threadlocker / sealant.

Long Shelf-life

Parts pre-coated with Dri 2020 / Brass-Loc can be stored for up to 4 years before use.

Chemical Resistant

The inert nature of Dri 2020 / Brass-Loc allows it to resist a wide range of chemicals and fluids including: Motor Oil, Water/Glycol, Diesel Fuel, Dextron III, Hydraulic Steering Fluid and more.

Corrosion Resistant

Dri 2020 / Brass-Loc processing inhibits corrosion between brass mating fasteners which prevents seizing and allows for easy removal.

Applications

Applications include rear axle filler plugs, bearing adjuster nuts, pressure gauges and sensors, brake fittings, pipe fittings, and compressor pipe plugs. Other devices that this product is designed for includes; cable connectors, screws for plastic assemblies, adjustment screws, overhead fire sprinklers, shower heads, and door closure hardware. This product is typically used in applications with an operating range of -54 °C to +150 °C.
