Pre-Applied Fastener Processing Service

FLOW / SPRAY / FLOOD / ROLL / COAT METHOD

The process below describes in general the common steps for each service.  However any and all steps may be modified depending on what is necessary to meet customer performance requirements.

  • Customer parts arrive and our equipment is tuned to run that specific part size and product coverage.
  • Depending on the material, parts may require washing to remove oil and plating residue or dust.
  • Inline inspection process may be used to sort for foreign parts.
  • Pre-Heat via induction.
  • Material is applied in a specific process which is important to meeting end-user requirements.
  • Application coverage area is very important to meet specific part torque or k-value parameters.
  • Flow / Flood / Spray / Roll Coat with post heat via induction / air / oven / or UV drying.
  • Parts are re-oiled if necessary.
  • Complete parts prepared for shipment back to customer either in original container or new packaging.
  • Pre-Applied processes can be certified through PPAP.

MILLED INSERT METHOD

The process below describes in general the common steps for each service.  However any and all steps may be modified depending on what is necessary to meet customer performance requirements.

  • Customer parts arrive and our equipment is tuned to run that specific part size.
  • Parts may require washing to remove oil and plating residue or dust if it will interfere with milling process.
  • Inline inspection process may be used to sort for foreign parts.
  • Part is fed into equipment which fixtures and mills a slot or hole into fastener at location specified by customer.
  • Depth and length are pre-determined with sales engineers to achieve necessary performance requirements.
  • Milling process can generate burrs which will require a de-burring step.
  • If parts are plated, they may need to be sent back to plating facility to have coating re-applied in milled slot.
  • Parts are fed into equipment which fixtures and inserts strip or pellet of material into slot or hole.
  • Parts are re-oiled if necessary.
  • Complete parts prepared for shipment back to customer either in original container or new packaging.
  • Pre-Applied processes can be certified through PPAP.
