Process Overview

Loctite® Vibra-Seal / Dri-Seal is a non-toxic, thixotropic, preapplied, water-based thread sealant for bulk processing applications (tumble or flow coat). Dried onto parts, it is a resilient, tight-clinging, non-curing sealant for tapered or straight threads. Loctite® Vibra-Seal / Dri-Seal provides positive sealing and resistance to vibrational loosening. The thread filling ability and prevailing torque characteristics of this product are effective for use on sealing applications, particularly where re-adjustments are required.

How it works

Customer parts sent to ND Industries undergo the Loctite Vibra-Seal / Dri-Seal pre-application process whereby dry film lubricants are coated onto fasteners and assemblies in bulk. Completed fasteners are packaged and returned to the customer. Parts arrive ready for assembly or for storage until needed. Processed parts have a very long shelf life due to the inert nature of the materials used, however re-certification of parts should take place to confirm other external factors have not compromised performance.

Reusable

Parts coated with Loctite Vibra-Seal / Dri-Seal can be removed and reused up to 5 times.

Non-Curing Fomulation

Parts pre-coated with Vibra-Seal / Dri-Seal can be installed and will immediately seal 12.7mm NPT fittings up to 830 kPa.

Chemical Resistant

The inert nature of Vibra-Seal / Dri-Seal allows it to resist a wide range of chemicals and fluids including: Motor Oil, Water/Glycol, Diesel Fuel, Dextron III, Hydraulic Steering Fluid and more.

Corrosion Resistant

Vibra-Seal / Dri-Seal processing inhibits corrosion between mating fasteners which prevents seizing and allows for easy removal.

Applications

Applications include rear axle filler plugs, bearing adjuster nuts, pressure gauges and sensors, brake fittings, pipe fittings, and compressor pipe plugs. Other devices that this product is designed for includes; cable connectors, screws for plastic assemblies, adjustment screws, overhead fire sprinklers, shower heads, and door closure hardware. This product is typically used in applications with an operating range of -54 °C to +150 °C.
